2026 AWARDS
Since 1971, SCMS has annually honored the year’s best in cinema and media studies scholarship, teaching, and professional service. The next round of awards will be presented at the 2026 SCMS Conference. The submission period will begin Tuesday, July 8, 2025 and end Monday, August 4, 2025 at 5:00PM CT.
Accessing the Portal
Please click the SSO Login button, and provide your cmstudies.org username and password to access the portal. The SSO login links your SCMS membership profile to the conference submission portal. When logging in for the first time, you may be asked to grant access to your profile. Please select "full_profile" and proceed to log in.

Digital Files Specifications
All book submissions must be submitted as ebooks or digital files through the submission portal. No physical copies will be accepted. Digital files must be accessible to committee members without additional software or credentials. Watermarked digital copies are accepted. Physical copies of published books may be requested by the award committees at any point throughout the review process. Essays are digitally uploaded (PDF required) to the online submission portal at the time of submission.
